I completed an 80-mentorship programme at New Zealand's leading media organisation, Stuff, under the guidance of Steve Kilgallon, one of Stuff’s national correspondents. During this time, I was exposed to many facets of the newsroom, including spending a day at the breaking desk, attending assignments with photojournalists and spending a day at the Auckland high court with Stuff's court reporter. I also wrote two stories of my own, both of which were published in the Sunday Star Times. The experience reaffirmed my aspiration to be a journalist.
