Extra Point is a student-run sports show at Western Kentucky. For the show, I go out and shoot my own footage, write my script, and edit everything into packages for the show. I also go out and shoot sports at games, then edit them into VO's and VO-SOTS for the show. Along with making packages, I have also anchored for the show, writing all my own scripts. During football and basketball season, I operate the board in the studio while the announcer is doing play-by-play at the game. I cue commercials, play pre-recorded interviews, and make sure everything runs smoothly for people who were listening. I had the opportunity to intern at WKRN-TV in Nashville. During this internship, I learned different skills from reporters and producers. I would go out with reporters and photogs and shadow them as they went to cover stories. I would practice standups, and make my own packages from different stories. I also helped log interviews for producers, practiced writing stories for newscasts, and practiced writing web stories. I also practiced anchoring in the studio and worked the assignment desk.
