  I am creating a series of children's stories based on real people I have met in Rwanda and their incredible resilience. The inspiration was the total lack of literature for Rwandese children that reflected their own rich culture. Three books published, a fourth in production and six more in my head. The project is a collaborative project - Dolph Banza (Kigali) is the illustrator of each story. The ongoing energy and drive for SCIL came from the teachers and wider team who caught the vision for an organic organisation that could accelerate and promote transformation and innovation in learning. I had the opportunity to create and start the Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning (SCIL) during this time to support grassroots creativity in learning. SCIL was an activity of NBCS.
