Brilliant is an understatement for a rare technology talent like Harold. I had the pleasure of managing Harold at CAN Capital. Harold was moved over onto my team to learn yet another technology (RAD) and we needed someone that could bridge the gap between our legacy technologies and our emerging technologies. Harold showed both an amazing aptitude for learning and depth of understanding complex systems and requirements that was most impressive. His remarkable patience and kind demeanor are simply icing on the cake. If I could take Harold with me to my future endeavors I would not hesitate. He is the type of guy that will be a stand out performer anywhere.

I have had the privilege to work with Harold Ortega in many projects, both as his supervisor and his colleague, and He is very smart, He is a key player in making things happen : he is result driven and reliable. We were able to achieve the release of many software projects on time because his commitment and he is one of those persons you can count on from start to finish, providing you options and advice when results are needed. A project assigned to him is synonym of a project getting done. He's positive and organize attitude are just two more attributes that makes him a valuable member of any software development organization. Harold Ortega is always a pleasure to work with; all these reasons are why I recommend Harold Ortega. He is a tremendous asset to any company that wants the success on its projects.

New systems generation in the Architecture Dept (2016 - Today): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the end of 2016, I left the Scrum Master & Team Lead position and started to work in the new Architecture Department. In my new position I worked in the team responsible for implementing in the new RADs technologies acquired by the company (Mendix Platform). Today, I am leading the development of the next generation of systems in the company with Angular, Mendix/Java, TIBCO BW and AWS Services (EC2, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda & Step Functions, S3, Redshift, VPCs), Salesforce, Python and others. As a Team Lead & Scrum Master (2012-2016): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Promoted to Team Lead and Scrum Master, I was in charge of six people in the team. Supervising and improving the technical work of the development team were part of my responsibilities then. Projects related to the Prequalification and Underwriting process of the company, a Sales and Merchants Portal on Internet for supporting the Cash Advance or Loans process and the development of a Calculator to handle the financial risk of the sales were some of the main projects that I had a that time. Some of these projects were built using Sql Server, VB & C# .NET, Silverlight MVVM, MVC, WCF technology and PHP - Apache - MySql. The major challenge: the Merchants Portal was a project with a very aggressive deadline and It was completed successfully. I had under my supervision a total of 11 developers in the team. As a Senior Application Developer in Development Department (2008-2012): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Development and support of financial and administrative systems for the sales force, commissions and workflows. ASP .NET + VB + Ajax and PHP were the main used tools in this period. Show less
