As a USMC Sniper Team Leader I was tasked with preparation, maintenance, and employment of the equipment we required to communicate with rear echelon, support and headquarters elements. These responsibilities included, but were not limited to, loading cryptographic fills into our AN/PRC-119 VHF radio using AN/CYZ-10 fillers, accessing and loading the system time from our AN/PSN-11 pluggers to ensure the PRC-119 could communicate, and building field expedient antennas with cobra-heads, resistors, and commwire in order to maintain long-range communications with a PRC-77.
