  Ms. Harmony’s Dance Studio houses three dance programs, UNITED (the original program) and the Tiny Tots division, which is currently run out of one of Ithaca’s historical community center’s - Southside Community Center. UNITED was initiated November 10, 2017 with a group of eight (8) community children, and has grown to be a staple youth performing dance group in the Ithaca community. UNITED allows for participants to: cultivate new friendships, acknowledge unique dancing styles, learn about the culture of dance, black unity, self-love, feminism; choreograph and perform challenging pieces, be themselves and most importantly, develop a safe-space where they develop an appreciation for community! Members collectively create strong, inspirastional statements through the power of movement, commanding attention! This program has a strong emphasis on community, family and social justice, and the response from the community was so immense that during the 2019-2020 year the program had over 45 students audition. With numbers like that we had no other option but to expand our capacity and register as a business. Unfortunately, like most small businesses, the global pandemic hit our family hard, but we still responded by asking our community “What do you need, and how can we help?” The response was “can you create a program that will cater to tiny humans?”, and our answer was YES! From that request the Tiny tots program for children ages 3-7, was born and now we cater to children ages 3-12 in total.
