I had worked as a Plywood Dryer Feeder for Boise Cascade though the temp agency Confident Staffing. While working at Boise Cascade I was required to think on my feet in a faced pace production environment. I was trained on how to safely operate the controls for both the manual and automatic plywood dryers. I was also trained in the proper procedure to safely remove a plug-up (jammed piece of veneer) from the industrial machines. I earned my locks on my second day as a temp. I had worked overtime on multiple occasions and assisted with cleaning out the dryers with high pressure water hoses as well as sweeping out the super-heater chamber. My responsibilities included: • Feeding wet veneer into the plywood dryer • Ensuring all safety protocol are followed by myself and fellow coworkers • Quickly and properly "lock out" the machine if a plug-up occurs (Earned my locks after one day as a temp) • Keep work area clean and free of wood debris • Calling operators on the other side of the dryer when a changeover is about to occur (Heavy Sap, Sap, Light Sap, Re-dry, etc.) • Sweeping debris and sawdust while on the floor Show less
