Digitization project

Nov 2019 - Present
The main purpose of the digitization project includes capturing the botanic specimens in high definition images, making them available to all users locally, nationally, and internationally and reducing the impact on the delicate Herbarium specimens by reducing the amount of healing. As a part of this project, my duties included going through all the files and boxes containing specimens and ensuring the proper attachment of specimens and relevant details. As a part of the project at Macquarie University, we as a group worked for recommending the street tree pits in the Parramatta River Catchment Group. The aim of the project was to increase the canopy cover of the parramatta catchment by installing street tree pits to improve the liveability of the area. We as a group shortlisted various councils and streets by doing desktop analysis and then final recommendation was made through ground truthing.
