I am pleased to be able to share my experience/interaction with Hans Larsen. I have known Hans for over 10 years. He was my IT support person while we were both at Chicago Capital Markets (CCM). I heartily recommend him to anyone. I have been a broker on the floor of the CME for over 30 years dealing with large institutional clients at Banks and Hedge Funds trading interest rates. My products were but one arrow in their quiver, I executed listed, exchange-traded products, eg, mostly Eurodollars and Treasury futures or specifically options on them. It is a fast paced and demanding world, where IT problems have to be identified and solved ASAP. If not, money was lost, opportunity was lost, and worse yet customers could be lost. Hans lived in this world. It is a thankless world. Hans gets a phone call when something is wrong, and the person he is dealing with is under tremendous stress. It's not easy. But Hans accepted this responsibility, and did his best to solve the problem in real time, honestly given no time. It requires him to know a lot of aspects, facets, tasks, programs, vendors, etc. He is a problem solver, understanding problems with minimal information because the broker assumes you are on the same page, and executing quick solutions. I say executing, rather than offering solutions, because there was no time to talk about it. He would often jump onto my computer remotely and make the necessary fix while I was still in the thick of it watching the cursor fly around on my screen. He is a trouble-shooter, tackling problems that occurred, analyzing them, researching vendor software solutions or discussing our needs with our current vendor for the task, eventually ripping off the bandaid placed on there by him, and with time installing permanent fixes. He managed our IT needs with all of the growing security threats. He chose and implemented the protection to our systems. He was on the CCM team who worked with oversight, whether from the CME, CFTC or our Clearing firm to implement protocol or IT to satisfy these requirements. He is interested in this IT world, stays on top of issues in this fast paced world. That's about all I have to say. In summary, you will be getting someone who cares. I recommend Hans Larsen.
