  Paid University placement with a mixed rural asset management firm, managing agents for two large estates in Shropshire and Herefordshire. The year long placement afforded the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of strategic estate management, providing the chance to shadow the head agents and undertake my own projects. Key projects undertaken: Abstraction licences – Responsible for registering water abstractions for both estates. Involved recording the water frameworks of both estates and calculating abstraction amounts. Residential lettings – Regularly completed schedule of condition inspections for the rental portfolios, prior to tenants moving in. Organic inspection – Responsible for collecting the relevant information for the annual inspection, involved liaising directly with contractors and graziers. Assisting in the preparation of annual grazing, cropping and sporting licences. Completing and submitting various RPA grant applications for farm clients. Preparation of felling licences - Experience of identifying species and calculating felling volumes for multiple thinning and clear felling projects. Show less
