Resident Assistant
-
Aug 2019 - Aug 2021
As a resident assistant (RA), I helped create community in the Sojourner Truth Apartments, co-ordinating programs and being there to support residents throughout the year. From crisis-response and serving on duty to maintaining deadlines for bulletin boards and programs, I developed a sense of reliability and resilience. In Spring 2020, I earned the 'RA All-Star award' for my dedication and contributions in the role. In addition, I worked as a virtual resident assistant in Fall 2020 to help first-year students transition into college. In Spring 2021 and Summer 2021, I returned to campus to work as an on- campus RA for returning Rutgers students.

Research Assistant in Geological Sciences
-
Jun 2018 - Jul 2021
As part of the Aresty Summer Science Research Program, I researched the response of the Indian Monsoon during climate extremes, evaluated with stable isotope records in Porites coral– investigating differences between the trends of monsoon strength in the Little Ice Age and the present. After the summer, continued to work as a research assistant at the Geological Sciences lab. I have worked with equipment like a micro-mill and mass spectrometer to analyze isotope data, and beyond this, have used remote sensing methods to ground-truth information about the monsoonal trends.

Event Coordinator
-
Oct 2020 - May 2021
Served as an Event Coordinator and Community Director; planning events, collaborating with other organizations to form mentoring programs, managing the Twitter account and building community. Making sure we represent diversity in thought and being with our speaker series, I reached out to a wide range prominent researchers and professionals in the field, from neuroscientist Steve Ramirez to Philosopher Daniel Dennett and Youtuber Jordan Harrod. Along with our Vice-President, I organized our department's first ever research conference via Zoom and interactive platform Gather Town.
