  As State Communications Manager, I provide tailored communications support to state policy groups working to build their capacity and expertise on public programs intended to help people meet their basic needs. These programs include food assistance, child care, and income supports, among others. The "safety net" initiative is part of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities' overarching effort to reduce poverty and inequality. Together with our partners, we are seeking to protect and advance policies and programs that improve child well-being and promote family stability at the federal and state levels.

  Responsible for advancing the mission of the Foundation by framing national debates over policy issues, driving conversation, and building consensus about reform in key areas of investment; oversee day-to-day communications for Foundation’s largest programmatic team, including interfacing with senior leadership, and identifying priorities and strategies; conduct opposition research in jurisdictions where the Foundation is seeking to advance policy objectives; manage distribution, pitching, and audience acquisition for branded newsletters in an effort to build and inform coalitions of supporters; research and analyze marketing opportunities; and consult with programmatic officers and grantees who are seeking to fund public information campaigns.
