Research Intern

Feb 2022 - May 2022
I was on placement at Bravehearts as a Research Intern. I was a part of the evaluation report for The Courage Project, a therapeutic service provided to children and families in North Queensland. I interviewed the relevant stakeholders (Queensland Police, Queensland Health, Relationships Australia) regarding their experience of referring children to the service. I also compiled case studies of the children and families who accessed the service, and how their Trauma Symptoms changed pre- and post- counselling. I also consulted with the Director of Therapeutic Services and clinicians to evaluate if the goals of service were met. I also worked on a research project about the current training manuals for police recruits regarding their process of investigating sexual assault matters, with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.
