Maternity leave cover leading to a full time position as an Interior Designer. Duties Involved: Conducting site surveys, planned design concepts, selected colours and materials, reviewed pricing and collaborated with other creative design members (brainstorming and exchanging ideas and experience). Made presentations of progress and final designs in the form of layout options, furniture styles and schemes including fabrics and finishes for approval by customer. Working with colleagues on large residential projects both in England and abroad, taking control of the soft furnishings and organising installations. Managing small projects on my own, creating estimates, ordering and overseeing the completion of the work. Using Esti-Pc to manage clients budgets. I have worked on both high end residential projects and rentals where the budget has been limited. Using Auto-cad to demonstrate to clients a variety of furniture layouts and the ergonomics of a space. Using Sketch-up to illustrate and give clients a better understanding of a space and designing bespoke items of furniture (including the design of a home cinema). The range of clients I have worked with has allowed me to broaden my mind to many different styles including very traditional period styles, eclectic style and contemporary looks. This has been very important to me to be able to adapt to clients requirements and visions.
