Driving a complete turnaround in the fortunes of The Kindu Trust - a small child sponsorship charity working to support children and young adults in Ethiopia - from a failing organisation to one that is experiencing consistent 20% year on year growth, and expansion of income generating and community based projects in Ethiopia. Based in the London office, the job requires regular 2-3 week trips to the Gondar office to ensure everything is running smoothly.Financial Management - Overseeing all UK and Ethiopian expenditure and budgets. Financial analysis for the organisation's annual report. Worked with database designers to design a user-friendly database to record and monitor both Ethiopian and UK finances. Staff Management - Remote management of the team in Ethiopia, which has grown from a staff of 3 key employees in 2010 to 8 in 2012. Introduced objective setting and staff appraisals in 2012. Recruited and trained paid staff and volunteers in the UK office.Marketing and Supporter Relations - Produced a wide range of marketing materials, including information leaflets, newsletters, design of 2 websites, social media updates. Increased levels of supporter satisfaction through prompt and informative responses.
