I have taught English online for several years, and since starting at PA Leadership Charter School in 2019, I have taught 7th, 8th, and 11th-grade. In addition, I have served as a long-term substitute teacher for English as a Second Language, and have taught English Language Arts 6-8 during Summer School. In the Summer of 2022, attended an A.P. Summer Institute to receive training in A.P. Language and Composition, which I now teach to 11th-graders. As a 9th-grade English teacher, my primary responsibility is to design and implement instruction. In an online setting, part of that implementation means encouraging student and parent engagement with the curriculum. I work hard to build relationships with students and parents to drive students to achieve at the highest level of intellectual rigor possible. I co-founded the school's online writing center with a peer. I also founded two clubs, the literary magazine club and the GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance). I have also served on the graduation committee and have mapped part or all of 5 separate 7-12 English courses to the PA Common Core standards for both English Language Arts and Career Education and Work.
