Student Admissions Representative
-
Apr 2016 - May 2019
The role of a Student Admissions Representative at Bradley is to guide visiting families on tours of campus and provide them with all the information they need to make their college decision. On occasion I have the opportunity to help with social media marketing or taking part in University photoshoots and I also help with operational office tasks and communication. I love working as an admissions representative because getting to know families and talking to prospective students is so fun and fulfilling. The best is when I am giving tours to students interested in the programs I am most closely affiliated with (Animation, Game Design, and User Experience) because their faces always light up hearing about other students that have the same passions and ambitions. This job requires me to think on my feet, be personable, flexible, and represent my school in a professional and positive way. Over the past two years I can see how my confidence with pubic speaking, marketing, and communicating in general has grown and I hope that in my career I have many opportunities to meet and connect with people in this way.

Animation and Game Design Tutor/Lab Aid
-
Aug 2016 - Dec 2017
As a Tutor and Lab AId I met with students one on one or in groups and helped them learn and practice concepts of Animation and Game Design including Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition, and basic coding logic. This was for the course IM 110/120 which is the beginning class for Animation and Game Design with 110 being the production component and the 120 course being concepts and documentation. For the 120 course my services focused more on the design and formatting of assignments like a game design document or a mood board.

Interactive Media Intern
-
May 2018 - Dec 2018
As an interactive media intern with the W. D. Boyce Council, BSA I wore many hats. I took photos and video during marketing shoots, camps, and council events. The images taken by myself and a fellow intern were then incorporated into marketing pieces on their web page, social media, and in print. The video footage we collected at the camps was then edited into two promotional videos for next Summer's camp offerings. This internship challenged me to flex my creativity and graphic design sensibility within the established Boy Scouts brand and I learned how to communicate with my fellow interns, my boss, higher ups, and printing companies to deliver quality work that is true to the Scouting identity. While some of the work I did entailed updating previous designs with current information, a majority of my work with the W. D. Boyce Council offered a lot of creative freedom to create a 'look' for a certain campaign or event and I loved getting to bring my illustrative touch to print pieces and affinity for playful theming to the videos.

Aug 2017 - Aug 2017
During my internship at Protokulture I gained a great deal of insight into the process of taking an animation from concept to conclusion and how that pipeline looks at smaller studios. The work I did at Protokulture gave me a nice overview of the industry near me and introduced me to client interaction and feedback in a professional setting. Although my time with them this past August was brief, I greatly benefitted from the skills and experiences they provided me and know that this opportunity has better prepared me for those to come.

Student Intern

Dec 2016 - May 2017
I pitched my idea of building a large scale Zoetrope to my professors in the Fall of 2016. They directed me to the Peoria Playhouse Children's Museum where I spoke to the museum director who took an interest in the project. Bradley University's Department of Interactive Media gave my partner and I a grant to design and construct the device during our Spring semester of Sophomore Year. We created the Zoetrope with the guidance and resources of Rivercity Labs and also made interchangeable animations to go inside it. We then showcased it to the public at the Interactive Media Department show, FUSE, at the end of April and displayed our work on the project during the 2017 Spring Scholarship Expo earlier that month. The museum is currently working on building an entire exhibit around our work and the entire experience will be on display from June-December of 2017 for guests to enjoy. I acted as Lead Producer for this project and had a hand in every step of the ideation and creation of the Zoetrope. Some things I learned from this self guided Internship experience are:-Take the initiative to make your own opportunities!-Leave a little extra room in your budget (for unforeseen hiccups).-Communication is key.-Design with the user in mind-aka kids are unpredictable and we made this thing virtually indestructible!-Don't be afraid to play with color.-Work hard towards your goals: Internship by Sophomore year?
