  Student Social Worker St Joseph’s Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit, St Vincent’s Hospital, Fairview, Co Dublin.From Sept-Dec 2015On a daily basis I met with young people 1:1 and carried out therapeutic intervention which was probelm focused (the mental health challenge) but goal orientated. I faciliated 10 groupwork sessions on “Confidence Building”. I worked as part of an MDT, collaborating with other professionals. I facilitated community meetings on a weekly basis which is a space for the young people to share their experiences. I excelled in providing family support and counselling to parents and sibling who were grieving, as my communication skills are my biggest strength. I conducted assessments including Mental Health Formulations, relying heavily on a biopsychosocial model, Risk Assessing, Strengths Assessing, completing CGAS and HONOSCA with the young people, parents and MDT. I have experience in writing clinical case notes, and social work discharge summaries.I excelled in social work core counselling skills in meeting with young people and adapted an ecological framework to my interventions whilst being person-centred. Skills utilised throughout my role as a mental health practioner. I excelled in Empowering, empathising, active listening, motivational interviewing, boundary setting whilst having unconditional positive regard for each young person.
