I have worked with Hannah for over a year in the Center for Student Success at Houghton College. The CSS houses Counseling Services, Accessibility Services, Career Services as well as a couple smaller departments. Hannah handles multiple duties for all the departments, many that are administrative in nature, which she tends to with professionalism, and always in a timely manner. She is helpful and proactive when she sees things that need to be done. There are other duties Hannah handles, that require her to quickly and accurately discern what a student really needs - for many who enter the CSS are unsure. Hannah possesses a nature that puts students at ease. They find her easy to talk to; and when a student in the midst of a mental health crisis enters the Center, she maintains an air of concern and confidence that brings a calm upon a situation that could otherwise unravel quickly. Hannah also diligently maintains student confidentiality at all times. Hannah's administrative and people skills work really well in our Center. Indeed, her overall skill set, which goes well beyond these areas just the areas I mentioned, would be an asset in many fields, both in higher education and beyond. I recommend her without reservation.
