Worked as both a circulating nurse and scrub for the urology/gynecology team in the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Assisted in setup, intra-op handoff, and tear down for C-sections, tumor debulkings, open and laporoscopic hysterectomies, and anterior and posterior repairs. Learned how to chart in the perioperative setting using Epic Systems. Worked on a team with surgeons, residents, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, medical students, registered nurses, and surgical technologists.
