My primary responsibility is to lead the "Keskkonnakaitseluba 3.0" project to redesign and develop a new environmental permit concept in Estonia and make necessary amendments.Drivers of the project are both - the limited capacity of resources and the need to adapt to a changing world. Environmental permits as tools should support to achieve EU strategic goals - The EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050, Zero pollution action plan, chemical strategy for sustainability, Circular Economy Action Plan, etc. As a result of the system's modernization, the aim is to comprehensively address the use of the environment, ensuring that the effects of activities that cause environmental disturbances remain within acceptable limits, guiding environmentally friendly behavior and achieving environmental objectives.My responsibilities also include the following:- I represent the Ministry in developing the environmental decision information system (KOTKAS);- I represent the Ministry in committees and working groups in my fields;- I participate in the preparation of terms of reference, contracts, and public procurements in my field and control the fulfillment of contracts;- I resolve proposals and complaints related to my field received from other institutions and the public and prepare answers to letters and requests for information.- I participate in preparing work plans in my field and report on their implementation.
