Roles and Responsibility: * Support new product launch program by acting as focus person to prepare raw material until 1st production run. * Provide technical sourcing support to R&D for development purpose. * Follow through the releasing of new materials with R&D to meet production build dates. * Support R&D sourcing effort by identifying and purchasing of components during conceptual phase. * Investigates new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, as well as cost reduction requirements. * Conduct supplier survey and assessment jointly with Supplier Quality and Engineering group. * Able to work independently and also in a matrix environment. * Manage the communication and activities between R&D and Buyer. * Participate in project meetings and represent the voice of Procurement when applicable. * Collaborate with Strategic Buyer to provide market information to R&D. Commodity involves: Passive components Active components Injection moulding parts Die cast parts Turn parts Machine parts Lens Etching parts My role in P+F is to work with the developer team or R&D to have our product launch into the market in the shortest possible time and thus catching the 1st pie before others do so. For me to fulfill this task, I'll have to work closely with my follow procurement mates as well as our suppliers. with their great support, i can present the best offer to my R&D. Besides new products, i also work with our sales team where we identify existing products of great potential in gaining good market shares.
