Advisor Occupational Hygiene – Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium. Report to the Superintended Health Management. The Advisor Occupational Hygiene is a part of the Health, Safety and Environment team. The role is responsible for providing support, advice, systems and processes for Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium to achieve occupational health standards, performance objectives and targets. The role is responsible for the supervision of three (3) Occupational Hygiene Officers who are responsible for the day to day occupational hygiene monitoring program.Responsibilities include;• Support implementation of Occupational Health and Hygiene for Rio Tinto Rossing Uranium;• Advise the Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium Businesses on current best practice in Health and Hygiene; • Responsible for the occupational hygiene monitoring program which is inclusive of the monitoring plan, monitoring implementation, monitoring data quality assurance and Statistical analysis.• Support the implementation of the Rio Tinto Health Standards, international and local Regulations• Manage Occupational Hygiene Programs (Hygiene Monitoring , Noise Conservation, Manual Task and Ergonomics, Thermal Control program and Legionella Management Program)• Supervise three (3) Occupational Hygiene Officers responsible for day to day occupational hygiene monitoring.• Participation in the Rio Tinto Rossing Uranium Health and Safety Audit Programme;• Planning and implementation of improvement projects for dust and particulate exposures, noise assessments and control, medical surveillance and occupational hygiene data management;• Serving on the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) committee. Occupational Hygiene Officer- Navachab Gold Mine. The occupational Hygiene officer is part of the Health, Safety and Environmental Team. The role reports to the Occupational Health Coordinator. The role is responsible for Occupational Hygiene Monitoring program for different stressors in a Gold open cast mine and to provide support, advice on systems, conduct trainings and implementation of occupational health legal frameworks. Additionally this role is responsible for the implementation of the Radiation Management Plan for the sealed radioactive sources regulated by the Namibia Radiation Protection Authority.
