I have known Hamish for many years and consequently hired his company Strategy and his personal services to fill a number roles (both temp and full-time) in the past. His service was always professional, he took time to understand our needs and I could rely on his skill, experience and integrity to ensure he only put up to us candidates he believed could win the role and perform to requirements. I would endorse his services to any company looking for a recruiter they can work alongside with the confidence that getting the right results for your company are put at the top of his list.

    • Regional Sales Coach
      • Jul 2016 - Aug 2019

Regional Sales coach responsible for the ongoing sales capability and development for the sales teams in the US, Mexico, and Brazil. This role was in addition to the Account management role below and was a recognition of my experience and passion for developing people through their careers. I was externally qualified to deliver consultative selling and negotiation training (Miller Heimann Group) and rolled this out to Fonterra sales teams. I left this role to travel around the USA with my family for nine months, before returning to NZ. Show less

    • Account Manager - Ingredient Sales
      • Oct 2015 - Aug 2019

Promoted to this role because of my success with supplier relationships in the previous role. This role encompassed sales of Dairy products into the US Domestic Market. Managing approx $200M for large accounts such as Hershey, Mars, Pepsi and Coke with often complex and long sales cycles requiring extensive negotiations. The sales duties included account management with a focus on growing share of wallet with existing customers through innovation service excellence, and in developing new business for innovative product development, or with product claims like GMO-free.I was recognized in this role for my achievements in both volume creation, and in margin increases accross my products. • Commercial Support
      • Aug 2014 - Sep 2015

I was promoted to this role to bring vendor management experience to this team. Approx 50% of the time was working in the Commercial team, troubleshooting issues with vendor payments, and the other 50% of the time was project work for the Regional Director and his Lead Team. Recognized for my contribution to vendor management and cost savings achieved through reviewing contracts.

    • Global Sourcing
      • Jan 2014 - Jul 2014

This was a project role in Sourcing. Part of my role was to update and standardize the storage of information, and part was to ensure compliance with an upcoming external audit. Audit results were the highest achieved to date. In gathering the necessary information I was involved with supplier liaison, and large amounts of cross checking detailed records. It was a good introduction to the complex business of Fonterra.

Working as the "People Person" for Teza Drinks was a great experience. This was a rapidly developing, dynamic business. This role was that of generalist HR Management, but there were several specific projects, including recruitment and induction, performance appraisal creation, and individual target/goal setting. I also rewrote and implemented a new employee policy and procedures manual, employment contracts, and job specs, as well as handling generalist HR queries. This position came to an end due to my Family's move to Chicago. Show less

Employed by Salesstar.com basis to revive their Recruitment division which needed to be rebuilt after the GFC. Salesstar.com are a Sales transformation company which encompass assessment, and training of sales teams, as well as recruitment. Because of this I was involved in extensive Client Recruitment/HR advisory than is the norm in an Agency model. This role was mostly retained work. No unsuccessful hires/guarantee issues in over two years. Employed by Salesstar.com basis to revive their Recruitment division which needed to be rebuilt after the GFC. Strategy Recruitment started in1999 and rapidly grew from myself and one business partner to 25 staff in three locations. My role developed as the company did, from day to day recruitment through to strategic responsibility.Following 5 very successful years in Wellington, I project managed the opening of a new branch in Auckland. I had total responsibility for developing this branch, and growing it to a successful, 10 person operation. As well as building the branch, I maintained an active presence on the recruiting side, though more with larger contracts or more challenging roles to fill.I was also the dedicated internal HR person, and responsible for providing generalist HR consultancy services to clients who did not have dedicated HR teams. This included Remuneration studies, OD, Employment contract assistance, employee relations, dispute resolution, and performance management. This was a rapidly growing part of the business.During my time here, I worked across a number verticlals and industries. Depending on the level of role, it was either Search, or Staffing. It also covered permanent, contract and temporary assignments.Successes included;Creating a profitable business from no initial client baseDeveloping and managing a team of 10 direct and 25 indirect reportsWinning New Zealand's' National Equal Opportunities Award, presented by the Prime MinisterLaunching HR services Show less
