Hal is a rare gem. On countless occasions when I was distracted by other projects I could rely on Hal to work proactively and independently to put out great work. His excellent editorial judgment and and storytelling skills were always on display, and he made it look effortless. Hal is also a problem solver - handily coming up with clever ways to fill in gaps and find unexpected solutions. Beyond all of the technical knowledge, he is simply the nicest guy to work with. He makes work fun and has the best kind of energy - he is patient, an excellent listener, and genuinely cares about his co-workers. When it comes to accountability and getting quality work done on time even in an environment of competing demands, Hal is at the top of the list.

It's rare that you come across a video editor with the talent and skills of Hal Pearlman. I was lucky enough to work with him for more than twelve years at PRN, the last two of those as his direct supervisor. As a co-worker, I was often impressed with his depth of knowledge and his ability to meet tight deadlines.. As a manager, I loved his willingness to take on projects that were outside his scope of work and the ease with which he handled the toughest tasks. Hal would be an asset to any team.
