My research focused on understanding the relationship between phytoplankton productivity and wind patterns in the California Current System using satellite data and output from a regional ocean model developed by the UW Coastal Modeling Group. I also worked on modeling transport of harmful algal blooms in the Pacific Northwest as part of this region’s Monitoring and Event Response for Harmful Algal Blooms (MERHAB) program.
