Bio
Jeff Putz
Brian was an essential member of my team. As the "new guy" he had to spend a lot of time managing some of the legacy products and the technical debt that came with them, and was able to use his rich dev-ops experience to improve the maintainability of those products. He also found technical solutions to solving issues of customer data quality and owned that process autonomously. Brian was able to gather deep business context and understanding relative to any particular assignment, and detail oriented with his notes and follow-up communication. I really enjoyed working with him.
Eddie Oliveras
Brian is a highly-skilled CAD designer in AutoDesk Inventor and has a good understanding of new technologies and applications (3-D Laser Scanning) inside of the varied fields he is specialized in, most notably screen-enclosure designs and specialty metals fabrication and constructoin.

My work at Armstrong Aluminum entails providing many different services: Design, management, and IT services. Design: For each new project that comes through, I use Autodesk Inventor to create a 3D model of the proposed project. This is usually a screen enclosure that goes over a pool or large patio, but could also be a screen room and, in a few rare cases, a glass room. This is usually a screen enclosure that goes over a pool or large patio, but could also be a screen room and, in a few rare cases, a glass room. From this model I create two types of drawings: one to present to the homeowner for review and approval, and one technical drawing that is used for submittal to local building departments. This model and set of drawings is used as the design specification for the entire project. Engineering Management: Designing and fabricating these structures requires a consistent approach in the engineering of connections and selection of frame member types. Over a period of two years I created an extensive custom library of these connections and aluminum frame members for use in our design specifications that are specific to Armstrong Aluminum. These engineered details are reviewed and approved by an outside structural engineer for use in our permitting submittals and field installation design packages. These details are a constant work-in-progress and I manage and maintain them through a CAD data management system called Autodesk Vault. Software Development & IT: Working for a small business requires creative IT management since we don't have the IT budgets that medium sized or enterprise businesses have. I manage the internal Domain infrastructure along with roughly 5 workstations. I am also currently writing a new web based company application to replace an older .NET 1.1 Windows Forms based version. I designed aluminum framed screen enclosures for various contractors. I had 4 people working under me that I trained to do the same thing. One of my clients, which is the owner of the company I currently work for (Armstrong Aluminum), approached me in October 2005 to merge with his company and that transaction completed in January 2006.
