  Due to my notable performance on Hall Council, I was selected to advise on improvements for residential living conditions at Virginia Tech. On the board, I met with students & staff to share best and worst practices surrounding campus culture, events, cleanliness, safety, and ways to advance our community's goals.

  My peers elected me to serve on the President's Quad Hall Council as the Director of Finance. Our 5-person team was the link between residents and faculty at Virginia Tech. Throughout my two semesters on the council, my main responsibilities were managing our $2400 budget, completing purchase orders, and event planning & execution. I also served as the main communication liaison between council members and outside students & staff - fostering direction, alignment, and commitment to further Virginia Tech's goals. My most valuable lesson was getting to experience the communication and dynamics of a small, cross-functional, multi-faceted team. I also came to understand the process of drafting & hosting an extensive range of events to best represent a diverse community. The main roadblocks in this position were tailoring the council's regular programs for COVID-19 guidelines, adjusting in-person events to the virtual space, while continuing to form necessary connections among Virginia Tech students.

  I was selected to be an apprentice on the marketing team at Morning Brew for the BrewU Campus Ambassador program. I competed on a four-person team of Virginia Tech students against teams of college students across the country in order to recruit as many subscribers as possible. Our team recruited 96 subscribers from the VT community. We met periodically to review best practices and strategize on ways to recruit as many subscribers to the newsletter. My involvement as an apprentice with Morning Brew required me to take social risks in my community, putting myself in unsure situations in order to promote the Brew to as many students as possible.

I was also the Head of Cleanliness for the company due to my organization and cleaning skills. As a senior in high school, I balanced my work responsibilities with my school obligations, while maintaining a 3.8 GPA.
