The Country Trust is a national educational charity dedicated to bringing alive the working countryside for children least able to access it. We operate throughout England and Wales, working with primary schools in urban areas of high deprivation. Each year we help more than 25,000 children to understand and experience the working countryside. Our work is split into three connected strands; Farm visits, Residential trips and Food Discovery projects. The 500 cross-bred cows are medium-yielding livestock grazed on grass, and living outdoors on kale/beet in the winter. The arable unit of about 1000 acres produces 6 different crops either for the dairy of for sale on premium markets.
