As a Human Resources Consultant at SaskCentral I work with the executive team, management and employees, third party vendors, and legal advisors to lead, deliver, and maintain established human resources programs, policies, and services including: talent acquisition, executive staffing, compensation and benefits, training and development, succession planning, change management, talent management, employee relations and retention, and completing personnel transactions, among other ad hoc projects. I provide coaching to leaders on a full range of HR management issues, practices and programs, which includes staffing, employment equity/diversity, HR policies and learning and development, organizational design and development, performance management, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness in order to ensure leaders and their business units are supported and aligned to our strategic direction. I lead Human Resources policy and program developments including roll-out, education, communication and assessment. I ensure compliance with appropriate federal and provincial legislation in all levels of decision making and advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies. I also research current Human Resources trends and prepare recommendations to ensure we are aligned with best practices.

Human Resources Advisor

As the Human Resources Advisor for Meridian Manufacturing, I worked in a generalist capacity and was the lead and primary contact for Human Resources practices within our Saskatchewan branches (Regina and Saskatoon). I was responsible for compliance of Human Resources policies, practices and procedures and served as the subject matter expert among all levels of staff, including Management. I offered guidance and consultation on all areas of employment and ensured we were compliant to legislation and best practices. I would coach and counsel managers through a variety of topics including performance management, progressive discipline, terminations and other issues related to policy and employment law. I worked closely with leaders to ensure our staffing levels were maintained and Human Resources practices were aligned with organizational and operational goals. I developed and maintained our new hire orientation program, and oversaw employee relations and retention programs. I led Human Resources policy and program development including roll-out, training and communication. Working in conjunction with our Health and Safety Coordinator, I supported the facilitation of workplace harassment investigations, and developed processes and procedures to support the safety and wellbeing of our staff.
