I am currently working overnights, five days a week at a domestic violence shelter staffing and providing quality assurance. Part of my duties to the shelter is to provide clients with information they may need to other outreach/community resources that they may need, monitor the safety of 60 to 70 clients, enforce the rules of the shelter, collect personal information from new clients that may enter shelter overnight to enter into the database, and answer the shelter’s 24 hour hotline and provide services that each victim may need over the phone. A huge part of my job is quality assurance. I oversea 6 to 10 advocates on the documentation they do daily in the database and the paperwork that is required for each client in shelter. This is to make sure things are free from error so that the shelter’s funders can properly distribute grants to the organization. My most recent event I coordinated was the organizations Christmas Store for the month of December, 2020. The store was created to help provide gifts for the holidays that domestic violence victims are in need of. 202 children, 84 mothers, and 14 single women were provided gifts this year all while staying within CDC guideless that were put in place to keep clients safe from Covid. I interned for four months at Camp Fire’s National Headquarters supporting marketing and development for Camp Fire Summer Day Camps and one of Camp Fire’s big events called Absolutely Incredible Kid Day. My work for Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid breakfast and silent auction contributed to a highly successful event for nearly 200 attendees. The goal of $25,000 was exceeded (nearly $32,000 was raised), and $1,780 was raised through donations I solicited for auction basket items. I also assisted with event logistics. One of the marketing tools I worked with to promote Camp Fire’s Summer Youth Day Camps was Peachjar, a digital marketing tool for schools. I helped ensure camp flyers were distributed to more than 65 local schools near the camp locations. Show less

My responsibilities were to learn how to problem solve quickly, empathize and listen to customer complaints and concerns, and work quickly with tasks that were given to me.
