The US Department of Energy supports an Industrial Assessment Center at Arizona State University providing free evaluations for small and medium sized manufacturing facilities. While I was enrolled in engineering school I gained hands-on professional training and experience at operating manufacturing facilities. I have gained substantive experience performing evaluations on industrial manufacturing processes and energy consuming equipment to reduce costs by increasing energy efficiency, improving productivity, and decreasing waste. During the 24 energy audits I oversaw, an average of $60k in capital savings was recommended each audit. Each manufacturing site was complex and varied with its own unique challenges and savings, but was analyzed through an applied approach by conducting energy baseline analysis, apply lean manufacturing and implementing up-to-date manufacturing techniques and technology. I acquired a thorough knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes to recognize manufacturing inefficiencies by undertaking relevant research in modern technology and techniques, process heating and cooling, pneumatic systems, and phase change materials. Provided excellent communication and presentations skills ensuring technical and managerial targets are met or exceeded. Additionally, I supervised the training of the new hires in terms of personal protection equipment, safety standards, data recording, energy measurements, calculations, technical reports and recording implementations.
