I had the pleasure of being Hal’s instructor during Fullstack Academy, where he learned how to build full-stack JavaScript web applications alongside his peers. What really impressed me about Hal was his ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts in computer science, especially algorithmic thinking. He has an uncommon aptitude for pairing theoretical understanding with practical applications - an invaluable trait in a software engineer. In addition, in a fast-paced coding bootcamp environment that can be stressful to many, Hal always kept his cool - he was professional and courteous and kept things moving forward, and brought a sense of humor and a strong work ethic. I would happily recommend Hal for any software engineering role - in fact, I would be delighted to have him on a product team as one of my coworkers!
