Our brief was to design a prototype intervention for 16-21 year olds in the borough to smooth tough transitions between education and employment. The focus was on the 'overlooked middle' - those not at risk of NEET nor those who are Russell Group university candidates. Over 8 weeks we spoke to 139 young people, 5 schools, facilitated 10 workshops, identified best practice in the area, in-depth employer interviews, and 19 young people experienced our prototype. Our work was delivered to the Divisional Director of Growth and Economic Development at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

My role was to assist in the delivery of a hosting project, matching asylum seekers and guests with host Londoners. I administered a destitution fund for the guests and facilitated pastoral support for guests and hosts. I designed and conducted a research project, interviewing our guests on aspects of the hosting project model and feeding back best practice and opportunities to inform the project's future.

I am working on my first Science Fiction novel - a lifelong dream and personal project. Watch this space. "The future, in Fiction, is a metaphor. If I could have said it non-metaphorically, I would not have written all these words, this novel; and Genly Ai would never have sat down at my desk and used up my ink typewriter ribbon in informing me, and you, rather solemnly, that the truth is a matter of the imagination." - Ursula K. Le Guin
