Operations Manager
-
Nov 2012 - Nov 2016
The promotion to my new role has allowed me to take on a much bigger scope of operations within the business. I now manage the complete factory environment with overall responsibility for all manufacturing/assembly operations. I have 2/3 personnel that work under my direction to ensure that the operations are carried in line with requirements and to given deadlines.I have taken on additional operational responsibility in other support areas of the business: -Product Research and developmentCustomer associated R&DWebsite maintenanceIT internal/consultant managementEstimatingCommercial processing activities productCommercial processing activities plant hire fleetQuality Assurance liaison (consultant)Health & Safety liaison (consultant)Supplier liaisonClient liaisonMy estimating responsibilities have allowed me to become interactive with more complicated projects where ASEL have an input into the project to advise of alternative methods of product installation. This has created savings involved with cost and programme timescales.I am involved with site visits and site tests to help the customer develop the solutions with the use of ASEL products. This development has led to an increased involvement in international activity involved with estimating and project development. Further time and effort should see the development of these activities to create orders for ASEL. Show less

I have worked for Anchor Systems (Europe) Limited (ASEL) since leaving further education in 2009. I joined ASEL on a operations apprenticeship to gain further knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment. The role involved the organisation of the manufacturing/assembly facility to ensure a seamless operation from inventory to assembly of finished products. The role also required my input to ensure dispatch timescales were monitored and in line with customer requirements. My role co-ordinated the: -Management of inventoryOperational management of suppliersOperation & maintenance of assets within the factoryResearch & development of new assetsUpgrades in the manufacturing facilityDevelopment of the product portfolioCo-ordination of orders through manufactureOrganisation dispatch of goods to customerAssistance in performing supervision of site testsAssistance in creating reports for site testsMy time in this role has been both challenging and rewarding as I have been involved in aiding the business in meeting customer deadlines that have required some constructive methods of working and delivery scheduling to ensure tight deadlines could be achieved. I have been able to take part as an active member in the growth of the business during this time which has seen the business significantly develop and strengthen through focus and achievement.
