‘’ Ascomycetus study of Lichens Identification based on ribosomal DNA’’ Identifed the Lichens Protoparmeliopsis zarei which is reported for 1st time in Pakistan. Did comparative morpho–anatomical study of species. Performed ITS–based molecular analysis and PCR for amplification of the nuclear ribosomal Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) segment of template DNA. The Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) computer system of the National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) was used to compare ITS sequences. For every species sequence phylogenetic study was performed independently. Morphological analysis was done by cutting and observing the section of lichen under microscope. Ascus, Ascospore and Hymenium was observed under microscope at 40X and 100X. Show less
