Dr. Cheek is a man gifted in many ways. His abilities to research, write, and publish are well known. Dr. Cheek's knowledge of American Government, politics, international relations, and comparative government are apparent through his writings and lectures. What makes Dr. Cheek exceptional is his ability to build relationships with colleagues and students in such a way that he leaves lasting impressions on all those that he works with. I had the privilege of being one of Dr. Cheek's students at Lee University and also had the opportunity to work for him as a student assistant for multiple years. Witnessing his passion for education and research and participating in his daily routines inspire even today as an educator and researcher. I am proud to have known Dr. Cheek and know that I am not alone in my high admiration of the teacher and the man.

Harry Vogel, Ph.D.

I found Dr. Cheek to be highly inspirational leader. He encouraged me to do more than "just get by". Dr. Cheek is kind of leader any school would be very lucky to have. I firmly believe that he will succeed in any undertaking that he is involved with and will encourage those he works with to do the same. Harry L. Vogel, Ph.D.
