  The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is a nationally competitive, reciprocal exchange program between the United States and Germany designed to strengthen ties and understanding between the people of both countries. The fellowship is annually awarded to 75 American and 75 German young professionals and is funded by the German Parliament (Bundestag), the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the U.S. Congress through the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and the Fulbright Act. Known as the Parlementarisches Patenschafts-Programm (PPP) für junge Berufstätige in German. My year included: - 2 months of intensive German training at the Carl Duisberg Training Center in Radofzell am Bodensee - 1 semester of study at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Human Geography and Literature - 40 hours of volunteering both at Amerikahaus in Nürnberg and in a 3rd grade classroom in Neunkirchen am Sand - 6 months interning in the Green Company at adidas Headquarters in Herzogenaurach - Cultural immersion through living with a host family Show less
