  As Business Development Manager I worked with country specific teams to carry out investment analysis in Kenya, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe for power generation projects including, solar, peat, geothermal, and methane gas.The company’s operations in Kenya became my primary focus when confidence in the Menengai Geothermal field was firmly established by West Jec’s reservoir report. Symbion Power acquired sole ownership of an existing 35MW concession and in 2019 I established the company's first physical presence in Kenya . Along with the in-country team I ensured the transfer of shares and existing permits / licenses to the new entity. I coordinated activity between Symbion's executive team and the Kenyan project team. Duties included:▪ Issuance and evaluation of the project's EPC tender ▪ Finalisation of IFC compliant ESIA, Air Quality, ad Noise Impact Assessments▪ Evaluation of technical and financial project risks▪ Progressing through lender's due diligence▪ Regularly presenting project progress to Kenyan government stakeholders, including the Parliamentary Committee on Energy▪ Managing relationships with owner's engineers, local counsel, and environmental consultants
