Townsend's Kansas City publishing group founded KC Studio Magazine. In June of 2016 Townsend donated KC Studio Magazine to the Arts Engagement Foundation of Kansas City. KC Studio is Kansas City's largest subscribed to magazine reaching Kansas City's top arts patrons and key demographic households. KC Studio Magazine is supported by many of Kansas City's leading philanthropic organizations including: the Ever Glades Fund; the Kauffman Foundation; Hall Family Foundation; Richard Stern Foundation and Bank of America.
