Guy was an enthusiastic science teacher he had an excellent rapport with the students and was a caring form tutor. He set up the Christian Union and held some excellent debates and introduced some inspiring speakers on Christian topics for assemblies.

      Specific Responsibilities of HOF • Teaching and learning – Monitor the quality of schemes of work to ensure that students develop a full range of skills and knowledge. Set appropriately challenging targets for the next year and agree and implement strategies to tackle any under-preformance. Support HoD’s to analyse performance in their departments and set appropriately challenging targets. • Curriculum –. Ensure that HoD’s keep up-to-date with specification changes and developments. • Appraisal- Act as appraisal line-manager for HoD’s within the faculty. • Behaviour- Ensure that school discipline procedures (as well as any that have been agreed within the faculty) are being followed consistently. • DIP’s- Support/Lead the HoD’s through the process of writing Department Improvement Plans. • Student Groupings- Ensure that student groupings across the faculty are fair and equitable using performance data. • Health and Safety- Ensure that effective systems and good practice safeguard students’ health and well-being within the faculty • AMT- Attend AMT meetings and subsequently disseminate information as appropriate to faculty staff. • Faculty Meetings- Chair faculty meetings. Other responsibilities included yearly budgets, equipment ordering, prep room organisation, practical/experiment prep, managing soccer/cricket teams, robotics (Lego), and cross country.
