My love of wine really started as a personal passion. Introduced by my godmother who herself has a business selling rare wines from around the world, it was on moving home to Devon that I began to learn more about English wines in particular. The more I learned, the more I fell in love with them, and as I began to understand the personal stories of the people behind the vineyards, the more I wanted to share them with the world. Inspired by my love of fashion (which is where the use of the term ‘collection’ came from), I wanted to provide not only a wonderful product but a carefully thought out process with personalised communications and a considered website with attention paid to the details. For me, customer service needed to be paramount. My hope is to provide customers with the go to place to find the best English wines, offering suggestions and advice for every palette and occasion, and really showcasing this beautiful genre of great British exports. Expanding the range, The Celebrity Drinks Collection offers celebrity endorsed or owned drinks including wines, beers and spirits, from around the world. Like The English Wine Collection, the site enables customers to find a range of drinks all in one place, so you can purchase a single bottle, brand or a mixed case and have it delivered straight to your door. In 2016 I moved from London to Devon. Amongst the coastal walks, rolling hills and rural beauty of the South Hams I started working at a local vineyard, Sharpham, famed for its position in a bend on the River Dart and in the grounds of a beautiful estate. My role was to maximise profits for the business via all sales channels and to enhance the customer experience including online promotion and the on-site experiences and tours. In that time sales grew and a number of changes were made in order to maximises processes. Here, my eyes were opened to the rich world of English wines.
