"FuelPlas - A sustainable and innovative thermochemical approach for producing hydrocarbon fuels from unrecycled plastic waste in Turkey" is a collaborative research project funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy together with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and delivered by the British Council. This is a joint research project with The Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI. Aston University, Birmingham, UK). The focus of the project is generate breakthrough ideas to develop an innovative catalytic process to convert waste plastics to fuel and explore its commercial opportunity with industrial stakeholders. I worked on the SBO project “BIOLEUM: Fuels and Chemicals by Fast Pyrolysis of Biomass”, funded by the Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship. My role in this project was to provide technical and scientific expertise concerning the production of intermediate bioliquids (CFP-oil) by using continuously operated bench scale setups and the characterization of these intermediates with a focus on specialty chemicals, such as phenolics and aromatics.

I worked on the project "Biyodizel Üretimi Yan Ürünü Ham Gliserinden Kritik Altı Ve Kritik Üstü Su Ortamında H2 Ve/veya Metan Ile Değerli Organik Bileşiklerin Üretilebilirliğinin Araştırılması" funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) (Project No: 107M480). My objective was to produce and characterize methane and hydrogen rich gas mixtures produced from a glycerol rich solution at supercritical conditions.
