I am a senior account manager within the direct mail department for London Print Finishers, where we look after a number of corporate clients, who mail a large volume of direct mail.I am tasked with managing client expectations, and ensuring their jobs run through start to finish without any problems. This includes liaising with clients during the creative stage of the mailings, so we can produce work without any issues for our production staff. Part of my role requires updating our finishing department and our production manager with our time scales and what is required to keep our machines fed and to ensure the clients deadlines are met. This requires me to be involved in the scheduling and production for our lasering and enclosing machines, which I provide in conjunction with the client's key dates. This allows me to organise the shop floor staff, so we are are working efficiently and producing at our full capacity, allowing me to ensure our costs are fully recovered for all campaigns.Being in contact with our suppliers is a core part of my role, including daily communication with all DSA providers and various contacts within the direct mail industry.

Incharge of a portfolio of high level accounts, which included Santander, Legal & General and Argos/Homebase. The main objective of this role was to make sure all client’s business mail was processed in time, as a majority of these mailing were very time sensitive and important documentation like bills and credit cards. This was achieved through forecasting and planning, which was vital to the business. I had to obtain forecasts months in advance from our clients, so our postal network could prepare for the increase or decrease in mailing volumes. This also included analysing clients past business activities, to predict future trends.I took full responsibility for these large mailings and managed my time to ensure our operations team and Royal Mail were aware of these high priority mailings. This role also included a vast amount of bespoke MI reporting, which was done on a daily and weekly basis. This also included me having input in to creating a specific report for my clients, which serviced their specifics needs and requirements.I also had the opportunity to up sell certain products to my clients, which helped us gain a larger profit margin.Invoicing queries were a large part of this role, and this meant I had to work closely with our finance to investigate discrepanices and to ensure we were getting paid on time and in full. This role involved me working with various different departments and Royal Mail. I also handled customer contracts, which meant I was speaking to heads of departments on a daily basis. Due to my level of knowledge within the department, I created and conducted my own training presentations for the whole department. This was for new starters aswell as people wanting a refresher course.

My role in this organisation focused on storage and distribution. I had to cater to our clients needs and meet their requirements along with their deadlines. Duties included:I was responsible for the smooth running of the different number of business accounts the company was working with.I liaised with the clients for these accounts via the telephone, e-mail and also face to face. This included things like answering their queries, and managing large scale outs, which involved logistically planning large scale outs to recipients within the U.K and internationally.I was in charge of staff and took full responsibility for these large scale outs and managed my time and the workers time so all the clients needs were fulfilled.I had to be flexible and work late hours until the deadline was meet, which has taught me to be calm in a fast paced environment. I was also in charge of booking on stock for our clients, which had a large value and needed me to be very accurate and pay close attention to detail. The nature of one of our clients work needed us to run a telephone re-ordering line, which entailed me having to offer perfect customer service and have very good telephone manner. I also undertook my manager’s work, as he worked from home two days out of the week, which was only made possible due to me learning his role so quickly.
