  • Coordinating with growers local production operations, including monitoring field preparation, transplanting, fertilization, irrigation and pest/disease control • Ensuring business partners (growers and service providers) understand and comply with Company's standards (growing, harvest, food safety) • Perform a “dry test” to ensure that critical success factors for production are in place; report deficiencies to Operations Manager • Reviewing samples for quality assessment and testing, as well as coordinating quality control information with the grower • Training and supervising harvesting crews to ensure harvesting is in compliance with Company protocols and practices • Inspecting and testing to ensure fruit/vegetable is harvested at the right maturity stage and that fruit meets all Company standards • Coordination of harvesting operations, including harvest, shed packing and cooling operations with select vendors • Supervising post-harvest unloading and transfer into cold storage and checking quality of fruit/vegetable at cooler against Company quality specifications • Assisting with materials management and logistics efforts required to deliver the company’s produce package • Ensuring "Special Packs" are packed and delivered to cooling facility according to packing schedule • Advising management of any upcoming changes or trends in product availability, quality or other issues and providing recommendations of corrective actions • Surveying fields and providing daily, weekly harvest projections, six-week estimations and forecasts • Working June through September in Yuma AZ and San Joaquin Valley CA, and October through May in Northern and Central Mexico Show less
