As a software developer, I've written or contributed to several applications using JavaSE (parallel command-line and graphical client interfaces), JavaEE (database analysis, bussiness reports with JasperReports) and Perl/Python for prototyping. I have experience in GWT, RESTful services with JAX-RS, ORM with JPA and Hibernate, and JAXB for XML processing. Ample experience using Glassfish and Tomcat web application servers, version control with Git, bulding with Maven, and currently using NetBeans as favourite IDE but have also been developing using Eclipse for several years. I write my code's unit tests with JUnit and Mockito, and use static analysis tools like PMD and FindBugs, also Sonar to improve its quality. Currently exploring Docker to help testing and to deploy software in the cloud. As a data scientist, I've developed many statistical based prediction models for the pharmaceutical industry: ligand-based (QSAR/3D-QSAR), structure-based (docking, homology modeling of GPCR receptors, molecular interaction fields) and molecular interaction field-based (GRID, FLAP) drug design, as well as virtual screening and bioisosteric scaffold substitution (SHOP). Models were based on statistical analysis (partial least squares PLS, PLS-DA) and machine learning approaches (support vector machine C-SVM, R-SVM) using large matrices of molecular descriptors. I also have experience using molecular modeling tools like Volsurf+, Schrödinger Suite, MOE, as well as statistical modeling tools like R package and WeKa. I've been the main modeler at LMD for the European IMI project eTOX for the seven years it has lasted.
