Gary was my Line Manager over two posts, Training Officer and Human Resource Manager. During these four years he gained the commitment of all employees in the business through his inspirational leadership and clear objectives. He always made an effort above and beyond the required level to meet the needs of staff under his command. He always got the best out of the individuals through team building and understanding the team dynamics, processes and development. Gary is a very good judge of character, which allowed him to get the best out of staff, often in circumstances where time and resources were limited. He coached and encouraged newly promoted staff in new appointments within the organisation, sharing firsthand experiences and continued support. Gary is very much a lead by example manager and his staff respected and followed him with all given tasks. He developed confidence and competences within his staff and always encouraged personal development opportunities. From a personal prospective Gary was an inspirational Line Manager, his planning and organisational skills are outstanding. It was a pleasure to work for him and I have tried to emulate his style of leadership and management over subsequent years.
