I had the pleasure of getting to know Grey through his participation in Palmetto Boys State. Boys State is a leadership program sponsored by the American Legion for which over 1,000 young men from across the state of South Carolina are selected to attend in order to learn about leadership, government, and politics. It is an extremely high honor to be selected to attend Palmetto Boys State, as it is one of the premiere Boys State programs in the country. I have been associated with Palmetto Boys State for 38 years and currently serve as Director. Grey was selected as a delegate to Boys State in 2007. His selection as a delegate is indicative of his leadership and his desire to perform at the highest level. Of the 1,000 outstanding young men selected to attend that year, over half submitted applications to return the following year as a junior counselor. We only selected 40 young men to return, and based on Grey’s outstanding performance as a delegate, he was selected as a Junior Counselor in 2008. At the end of the week, his performance was so exceptional that he along with only 10 other Junior Counselors were selected to return the following year as Senior Counselors, responsible for leading 50 delegates throughout the week and various aspects of the program, not the least of which included one-on-one relational development in an effort to instill characteristics which the American Legion holds dear, namely honor, integrity, patriotism, and camaraderie. Grey's striving for excellence continued through college and law school. As a practicing lawyer myself for the past 30 years, I can attest that the qualities needed to excel in the Palmetto Boys State program such as exceptional leadership skills, a high degree of integrity, and interpersonal relationship skills, translate very well into what it takes to be an asset to any law practice or business where such characteristics are valued.

It is rare to find someone who gives 100% on everything they do both professionally and personally. I have known Grey for several years and I am always impressed with his ability to develop lasting relationships. Grey is an excellent teammate that has strengths in sales, communication, research, and multi-tasking. Regardless of the industry, Grey would make an excellent addition to any team.

Worked as a clerk for the 7th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office in Spartanburg, SC. I worked under the direction of Solicitor Barry Barnette and his team. As a Law Clerk, I was tasked with performing legal research and compiling that research into briefs, to support current cases. I also collected data on applicable precedents to support ongoing cases. I prepared legal documentation and report, as well as performed and assisted in interviews of complainants, victims, and witnesses. Was fortunate to be involved with, and play a role in several high-profile cases in the office, allowing me to gain immense knowledge and experience during my tenure.
