  Worked as a critical care float from 1998 - 2001. Delivered expert, compassionate intensive care nursing in Burn ICU, Pediatric Trauma ICU, Neurological ICU, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, CCU, PACU, Emergency Department, and as "Stat Nurse" assisting with and assuming care of critically ill patients in the emergency department and also acquiring IV access on floor patients when the floor nurses were unable to do so. Have worked in the Emergency Department since 2002. While working in a chaotic emergency department of a Level I Trauma Center and Regional Burn Center and County Hospital, have acquired experience working with all ages except neonates and with emergencies as varied as gynecological emergencies to multi-system trauma to stroke codes and code STEMIs.Perform skillfully in extreme life threatening emergencies demonstrating rapid grasp of salient issues and rapid delivery of appropriate interventions including, airway/breathing assessment and management, massive transfusion of various blood product, fluid resuscitation, initiation of CPR, cardiac defibrillation, external hemorrhage control, assisting neurosurgeons in placing EVDs and so forth.Instruct patient and families regarding rational for procedures, understanding of patient’s condition, and discharge instructions using repeat back demonstration or verbal instructions by the patient and or/ family member to assure complete understanding.Manage alleviation of patient’s pain and anxiety with a variety of strategies including coaching and attending to preservation of dignity.Considered an expert resource especially regarding cardiac concerns.
