I specialize in working with children in the early elementary grades who are having trouble learning to read. More recently, I have worked with middle schoolers in reading and writing instruction, which I find equally engaging! I believe that a joyful and positive environment is as essential as expert skill instruction. This includes celebrating and building upon each child's strengths. Every child can learn to read, and each one's path will be unique. This is why I love my work! My current specialty is teaching GENTLE class for adults who either require or benefit from accommodations, due to physical impairment of any sort, and also to those seasoned practitioners who wish to 'take it down a notch'. I use yoga, with other gentle healing modalities, as therapy for children with a wide array of needs - from attention deficit to anxiety and autism.
